Default Sharpening with a Tormek

Just got a MasterCarver. The flexcut blades are not sharp. I'm trying to sharpen them on my Tormek but the jig (SD32) keeps getting in the way. Are there any tricks to sharpening these blades?

Thanks,
Burt

Burt,
I have a few flexcut tools but have only used stones, sandpaper, and a strop to sharpen them. I have found that once they are sharp they will only require a touch up on the strop to maintain their edge.
Good Luck,
Jerry

Well, I realized I sharpened the V tool incorrectly. Rather then sharpen a micro bevel (don't know what you guys call it) I sharpened the entire bevel which was very dumb as this would weaken the entire cutter. Live and learn. Simplyme, the MasterCarver is a great tool. You have to understand that I have zero carving experience and my main use for the tool is texturing wood turnings. I may venture into carving other things but my plate is way too full with airbrushing and burning. I have the benchtop model and think this is a great idea. I can control the speed with a dial and not worry about my foot twitching. I also like the fact that with a dial there is repeatability. The tool is surprisingly easy to use from the bench tho I may still hang it. Having never used a Foredom I have no basis for comparison but I cannot see what benefit a Foredom would have over the MasterCarver. Burt
