Default reverse switch for foredom flex shaft

Hi,

I am sort of trying to get set up for power carving. Have an older model Foredom flex shaft which I am up dating with new shaft, brushes etc. I am a left hander, so would like a reversing feature which is not present on the machine I have.
HAS ANY ONE CREATED, USED, OR MADE AN EXTERNAL REVERSING SWITCH FOR A FOREDOM MACHINE???. HELP PLEASE!!!!!! HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DO THIS WITH A DREMEL TOOL THOUGH.. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ANSWERS.

Good question Bob, however your best bet is to contact Foredom Service Dept. they can answer any questions you have about their units.

Bob V, I'm left handed also (aren't we lucky?!!) and haven't had any problem with my Foredom that I've had for 25 years. No reverse on it. I would suggest that you give it a whirl and just adapt as you have been doing for years because you are left handed. I use a micro-motor now (CarvingMaster) and love it. I still use the Foredom to get rid of the major extraneous wood with 80 grit sandpaper tubes that fit on a mandril. Good luck. Dick
