| | Re: power carving classes Sam,
Are there particular types of carvings you want to use power to learn? Caricatures, animals, birds, relief, flowers?
A couple of places come to mind: The Sawmill Art Center at Cook Forest offers woodcarving classes with very good teachers. I hear their classes are great. You can find out more about them at www.sawmill.org
There's several active posters on this website who live in OHIO and they may tell you of workshops that they're aware of, but making contact with some of the carving clubs throughout your state may uncover upcoming workshops. The Columbus club pres is Paul at: pherbeck@columbus.rr.com Don't know how much farther south you are from there.
One final suggestion is to contact Dick or Barb Belcher: BELCHER CARVING SUPPLY, LLC ... TIPP CITY, OHIO 45371. PHONE: 937-845-0346. FAX: 937-845-0271. E-MAIL: R1BELCHER@AOL.COM. 2006 SHOW SCHEDULE ... belchercarvingsupply.tripod.com/ THey are super carving supporters and always good to pass on information they have about workshops and instructors. You can use the Club search link on this website to find other Ohio clubs to contact and find out their workshop schedules.
Good Luck!
