Has anyone used a hobby size paint booth as an exhaust for power carving with a Foredom or Turbo Carver type tool? I have a small Badger airbrush paint booth that exhausts to the outside and wondering if it may do a reasonable job of pulling and directing the dust should I decide on a power carver for things like roughing out caricature size pieces and maybe doing some detailing later on. Thanks, Pat |

Patrick, If you have enough airflow, I think it should work just fine. I use a dust collector exausted to the outside, and it also works great for painting, as it keeps the fumes out of the house. You should have a filter on it so you don't end up with too big of a pile of sawdust beside your house. The neighbors will think you have termites. Tom |

Thanks Tom and right your are on the filter. First order is keep the peace with neighbors. It dawned on me to run a test with my little Dremel tool and that should give me a clue. I suspect that a dust mask is in order in any case. Don't know how the guard cats that live in the shop will take to that. Hard to get them to ware anything ![]() Anyway, thanks again Tom for taking the time. Pat |

I think we need to see a picture of your guard cats in their masks... And maybe some proof that you put the masks on them yourself - like pictures of the scratches and stitches! Safety First! (Chuckling here at the mere concept!) LMiller |

| Well now, the closest I can come to the guard cats wearing anything is LT in his harness for walks when he was still a kitten. Not leaving the other two out I will at least introduce you to them. Photo in the middle is Tip, he’s the head man, and to his right is his sister Pee Jay, the real beauty of the crew. And of course on the far left is LT. LT thinks he's a parrot and loves to be on your left shoulder, not the right but always the left. All three are great pals and like people. As you can see their all hams too.
