Oh, I forgot about the brightside of all of this: I do own a $400 woodburner. I guess I should check it out to see if it works since I received my 3 detail master woodburning pens (just to add to the insult).

Are you talking about Tim Effrem of Woodcarving Supply? Just interested, because I used to do business with his father Chris Effrem of Woodcarvers in Minneapolis. I know Chris would not be doing that to you. He was always most helpful and ready to take care of any problems you had.

I am hoping it is not Tim Effrem who is giving you the run around.

Yes it is Tim. He finally called yesterday and left me a message and his cell phone. But, when I got it, it was 10pm his time. So, I did not call. He called this morning with another cell phone and I called and he was not their. He was not available at either cell phone. Then he called back when I was with clients and said to call him in a week when he gets back from a family emergency or to send it in so they can fix it. I left a message stating just send me one so I can have something I already paid for immediately and I will send this one back to you. He is not seeing this as an option. He apologized, which I appreciate, but I still have no hand piece and now have to either wait a week or send this one in, which will take a week or two anyway. When I called monday like he asked me to friday, he had a doctors appointment and could not get back to me. Yesterday, he was not in the shop like he said he would be, nor was the "other person" who could help me. Some of this is simply inability to connect, but the greater part is poor business practices in my book. Geez, just send me one and let's be done with it. But he won't consider that as an option. Craziness.

wisardd1,

Maybe I misunderstood your previous posts. I thought you said you bought the Master Carver Micro-Pro on Ebay. If this is correct, why are you not going back to the seller with your complaints regarding possible defects in the item.

I did, she refused to take it back even though she has a 30 day return policy, and referred me to WCS to resolve the issue. She is an authorized seller. There was another individual that went through something similar who bought his from an authorized dealer and got the same treatment I am getting. Does that make sense? The bottom line is I spent $400, WCS shipped it out, and I have a unit that does not work. I do think this will be handled, but it has not been a good experience to say the least. Like I said, if they would have, or would just send a replacement handpiece this would all be taken care of, but appears not to be an option.

Guess I should really fire mine up tonight and make sure I don't have any problems as I probably got the unit before or after yours!

Got mine unpacked and set up. Works like a charm. Sorry you're having troubles with yours.

Did you have any problems getting the dummy pin out?

Sorry you're having problems, but when I recommended it, I based it on the fact that I have had mine for over two years and never had any problems. In fact, I love mine, both sides (woodburner side and handpiece side). Yes, mine came with a pin, which I always place back in when not in use, and I can always remove it easily when I want to use the handpiece. I did not buy mine on e-bay.

Tim has been making great efforts to help me out. He called me during a family emergency and decided I need to send it in to get it fixed. I must admit, he seems to be a really neat guy. I will be glad to get this resolved.
