Default MasterCarver Bits and Foredom Bits

Are these bits interchangeable?

I ask because i'm about to buy a new Flex-shaft tool and it was between the Foredom 5400 or the Mastercarver-Pro, after alot of research here on this site and online, I'm inclining toward the MasterCarver because of price and the Recipro attachment. I notice that Foredom site has many more option as far as bits are concerned, so was wondering if there interchangeable?

Yes!! I've got bits from other manufacturers and they all fit my tools.

I have not researched and compared the two units and have not tried the Mastercarver. But, as a happy Foredom flexshaft owner of some 29 years I felt like I should respond to your questions.

First checkout the Foredom home site and go to handpieces, on the second page is a chisel handpiece that you can get separately or also comes with a bunch of gouges. I have only used a friends handpiece on his Foredom unit; but, it appeared to function as well as my Automach. The only thing I did not like is the flexshaft being attached and limiting my movement. I have used gouges from Flexcut and others in the Automach and my Friend's looked the same as mine so everything should be interchangeable between Foredom and Mastercarver also. I do have to use a brass adaptor that comes with some of my gouges (may be the Flexcut) when I insert them in the Automach. This may be true of the other units also

The burrs/bits depend on the collets for changing shank size so will be totally interchangeable among all types of power units.
