| Have any of yall tried the angle grinder attachment for your Foredom? How does it do with the mini chainsaw disc? How does it do with the Saburrtooth carbide discs? Before I buy one I would love to hear what yall think. I carve very aggressively and fast. Do you believe that tool can hold up and not get too hot too fast? |

I bought the Merlin Miniature Woodcarving Kit. I didn't have much luck with it. I too am slightly aggressive, it just didn't hold up at all. It might be alright for light sanding. I'd like to know of something that would stand up, I'll check with the response you get. Good luck Bruce

I like my Merlin mini grinders for the light touch, I can tell they won't take too much "pushing the tool". The tool that can take the abuse is a heavy duty Makita SJS die grinder 11 amps. Another tool that is more than robust is a Matabo 5" side grinder on your next purchase try one. Bosch with a paddle switch is fast and has high amps for a 41/2" side grinder.

No one has tried one? I wonder how they work? I will most likely buy one any way. Then I will tell all of you how it works.

Hi Don, I recently purchased one of these and while I'm rather happy with it it's held back by the power of Foredom itself. From memory the Merlin grinders are of a higher wattage than the Foredom. It does work well with the Saburr wheels (I wouldn't put the extra coarse on it though) but its strength is for more delicate finishing work. That being said I'm tempted to try and hookup a flex-shaft to a large variable speed router just to see how it performs! Cheers Josh |

Josh, I bet heat and friction will be what gives you the business. Please keep me posted on how it works I would like to know. I also experiment with tools in none conventional ways and I know, You know this just be careful.
