I bought, a year ago, your subject items. I've not used them a lot yet but will as time go on. What little I've used them though I like and feel the need for future carvings. I'm not sure about the reciprocating carver yet. To me it doesn't take that much more effort to hand gouge the wood. I'm sure though that if I did a lot more carving I would appreciate it more. I also bought a Ram45. I am of the opinion both offer their respective advantages. Foredom removes a lot of wood with torque and Ram for its fine detail capabilities. Sorry I can't offer a more experienced appraisal but I'm planning on using them all in the future. Right now I'm in the tool collecting mode while I can afford itand feel these tools, I would use, if available. |

Hi Cliff, I agree with Sailer about the reciprocating carver. I had to have one so I got one. I tried it a couple of times and not to impressed. But if I ever want to try recp Carving I got one. LOL. Merle

Cliff, I think you can do no better than a Foredom. No one makes a better one. Having said that almost all of the well known flexible shaft machines are very good. My opinion. Doug |

Thanks to all that answered my query. I'm not really that sure that I need the recipricating attachment myself, I think it's more of a case of "I want" dang, even at my old age I still get some urges. Oh well, I appreciate the input and will wait till santa comes and see what happens. Cliff |

Has anyone found a reasonable place or source to buy one???? I seen one at a carving show in Topeka, Kansas this last weekend. $279.00 show price on the box. See it Sat, pondered on it all night, went back Sun and it was sold. The vender had only brought one with him.. Checking the woodcraft store in Kansas City, it is considerable higher... Is there any other place to check, or do I wait for another show?????

Give Curt Fabre a call at 1-800-523-8474 and see what he can do for you. It's listed in his catalog at $249 but I don't know how current my catalog is and I'm not sure what all comes with it. he is a good one to do business with, has treated me good for 30 years.

Cliff you said you have had products from Smoky Mountain Wood how is it to get across the border? Do you have to pay duty? I am looking for a new reciprocating attachment for a Wecheer. Would you get Power tools from them?? Thanks Alice
