Thought I would post a pic of my first Power Carving done in a Power Carving Class.......I am still a rank beginner and now trying to work on my own.A lot to learn...Have ordered the disks "Fur Feathers and Fins - Frank Russel and can hardly wait for their arrival.. hope I do this right!..also myas I have not painted for so long have forgotten so much but hope to improve as I go along.....Grandma Teddy

That's a beautiful bird you have there, Grandma.....one would never know you were a "rank beginner"! Keep up that good work and let's see what else you tackle. Bonnie

Why thank you Bonnie....but you must remember this was done in a Power Carving Class with instructor there if needed help.....My big problem is knowing what bit to use where? Anxious to receive Frank Russell disks that I have ordered..........Grandma Teddy

Hey there Granny, that'e one fine lookin bird ya did there. If that's your first, then we are in for a treat to see what next you come up with, you've done a beautiful job on that one. I see in your profile that you do some oil painting, that is certainly obvious in the way you painted that bird. Oh, one other thing, I see you wre with the OPP, I was on the force in Sudbury in 1953 54, sorta wish I'd stayed , in hind site. Cliff |

Good afternoon Oscar.....LOL! never thought of crossing my fingers.as mentioned before it was carved under the watchful eye of the instructor....Have not attempted another one as yet waiting for the Russell disks to arrive as I am still in the dark as to which bit to use where? It definitely is my first power carved bird, and I hope to do more......Thank you for the compliment..Grandma Teddy

Great first effort Grandma Teddy.... how do you like power now that you have tried it? Do you think bird carving will become your niche or is it too early to say yet? Well, my first carving didn't look as good as your bird does...congratulations and keep up the good work
