| | Embarassed Re: Large Dremel, ack!! Hello,
I need to appologize to everyone for recommending the Dremel model 732...
I just called Dremel to request a wrench for the one that belonged to my late friend. I may have mentioned in an earlier post that I was trying to sell it for him and the wrench was missing so I wanted to get one to put with it before I tried to sell it...... They discontinued the model 732 ten years ago!!!!
Boy do I feel stupid..... I have only had mine about two years and it was bought at a sale my husband attended. It had never been out of the box! I have friends who use them and we all love them. I can't believe that they are all that old or that Dremel quit making them.
So, to everyone on here that I recommended it to, I am so sorry for being so dumb. I am getting out that wet noodle right after I get off of here and giving myself 50 lashes.....
I still can't believe they quit making it at all.....it is a great tool. I guess it was too difficult trying to compete with the Foredom in that area.

This will be one of those (many) blonde moments I would rather forget......
Oh well. It's done, can't take it back. Nothing like putting it out there for the whole world to see how ditsy I am.
Thanks Doug, but I have the wrench for my big Dremel. The one that belonged to my friend, that I was selling for his widow was the one missing the wrench. You are right though, use a bit shaft in the hole to keep the collet from turning while you unscrew the chuck to change bits with an adjustable wrench or a set of channel locks.
But the lady at Dremel was very nice (except for laughing when she told me the 732 had been discontinued) and she checked on their computerized inventory list and found they still had 50 of the wrenches. She is sending me one for free.
We have two carving groups in our area that meet on Tuesday, so this morning I packed up all of my friends stuff and headed out to hit the groups, one at a time.
At the first group there were only 4 people as most of the snow birds have gone home. But that little group of people bought nearly everything I brought with me to sell. Including the large Dremel. I got $50. for the Dremel, foot pedal, 3 handpieces and a case full of bits. Most of the Rich Notto knives went, both sets of small gouges, a battery operated Dremel and some books. By the time I left the first group I had taken in almost $200 for my friends wife. At the second group, all knives that were left got picked up in a hurry. I still have the In Lap dust collector to sell but I have a firm offer on it. It's a tad low but if there are no takers for the $75. I am trying to get for it, then it's his. All in all it was a good morning.

| | Re: Embarassed Re: Large Dremel, ack!! Susieq... No apologies required! And it doesn't have to be a blonde moment either. I'm as bald as a newborn babie's butt and I've certainly committed a couple of goofy faux pas's on this forum. Welcome to the International Society of the Human Race! If we was perfect we wouldn't be human. As far as I know there's only one guy that can claim perfection and he hasn't passed on his secret, at least to me.
But you got me checking my Dremel. I've got a #395 with the extension handpiece. I do believe that my first Dremel was a 732 and I'd still have it if it wasn't for the smoke test that I gave it. They don't like to work after wrapping them around your T-shirt! See.... I told you I can be goofy too!
