cutters for a Royobi reciprocating carver

Hey all,
I just received a Royobi reciprocating carver with a couple of cutters.Does anyone know what other cutters or gouges will interchange with my unit? The Royobi was free so I'm looking for cutters.

I have one of these. I got it several years ago. I bought some bits to go with it and I believe that they came from wood carvers supply. I think that many of the tools come with the same type of bit attachment. I saw a Pryxom I believe it was called that looked as if you could use the interchangeable flex cut bits in. I would check out reciprocating bits on line. I use to use mine when I was doing wood spirits in hard wood, worked ok.

I have the same Ryobi model and outfitted it with FlexCut blades and they fit just fine.

Hi Don, welcome and thank you for starting this thread. I have a Royobi reciprocating unit which sounds like the one you have. I bought mine from a fellow club carver. It came with the following cutter's straight chisel, v-gouge, rounded chisel and one other names escapes me and a nice hard storage, caring case. I later found out that Royobi had discontinued this unit. Why???? It's a great tool and a real work horse. I'm pleased to hear from Russel that Flexcut bits can be used with this unit.

If you go to Ebay and type in the above number You will find a set of 16 carving gouges for the Buy It Now price of $35.00. I have this same set and have also bought 4 other sets for carvers in my club. They fit the Ryobi you may need to touch them up a little when you get them but they are worth the money.

The seller is 800 Watt, he is a slow shipper. Don't expect him to get it in the next mail run, But he does have good prices and good equipment. I have bought from him 4 or 5 times, and found out you have to be patient on his shipping.
