| | Re: Branson Power Carving Corey, maybe you should try to change your wife’s pilgrimage dates to coincide with the seminar. Problem there is that, although a few shows are open, Branson won’t go into full swing for another week or two. There are two “goodie” stores in the Branson area. The first, of course, is Silver Dollar City and the second Engler’s (located in Grand Village). SDC carries more tools and such, while Engler leans more in the direction of finished carvings. Neither of these compare to the North Arkansas show in Mountain Home (south and east of Branson), held in early May, where Big Dog brings his traveling store and Dale Heinecke lays out a selection of carving blocks. A rumor I heard was that Dallas Deege will be bringing the Old Texas Woodshop’s traveling store to the show in Roger’s, Arkansas the first weekend in October. Dallas was at the seminar; but, I forgot to ask about the Roger’s show rumor. Both of these shops make a lot of shows each year and bring an incredible supply of goodies. |

Yep, it does sound like I will be a little late for the show. It is even a little too early to come early?????????? A couple of days different and I would have taken off early but that is a little too much. I will have to look up some of the carving spots when I get down there. Got some good suggestions when in Branson? Would appreciate any you might have. I will have a little time to spend when the wife is making baskets.

The Carvers club in Kimberling City sounds fun. Actually I had thought of starting one hear
but it would be good to see how one operates first. When do they meet? I
live between Berryville and Eureka. Right next to snake world. That is about
one half mile west of the new Kings River bridge built about 3 years ago. It
is a long rustic building. I used to restore antique stoves their. Anyhow I
would like to go to the next meeting. Maybe if you like you could come hear
and we could ride together. Might save a few bucks in gas.
Let me know the time and date they meet please.
