Default Best wood for power carving a turned vessel

I am and old carver, some power, mostly hand tools but have started turning a few bowls and such (SWMBO gave me a lathe). Now I would like to do some power carving on some of the bowls and such but don't what wood is best. I practiced a bit on a holly bowl (attached) but would like to try another wood. I have a basswood and butternut could get most anything on ebay. Got any suggestions?

Assuming you're keeping it unpainted, then walnut, birds-eye maple, tiger-stripe maple, cherry, butternut (in no particular order). Many of the exotics such as zebra wood, cocobolo, etc., would also be nice.
