The main reason I'm starting with power carving is that I have a dremel so I am just looking for easier stuff that I can do with it. I'm looking into doing glass etching also if anyone has any pointers for that to.
I started a cross out of a piece of cedar I founf here at work using my pocket knife. Its coming along but it's not store quality but I'll get there. Most of what I'll be doing will be painted by my little girls so most will be very basic as they are only 6 & 3. Again thanks for the info and tip.
glass etching wear a mask i learned the hard way,use a gray looking stone for sharpen[patterns like, fish ,deer practic on window glass[i use pt. bottles,a/ color water]with a little practice u can do the scales on fish, pick pat. that don't have lines close together or u can get etching gel a/ use vinyl[like black tape] u have to use rubber gloves[very dangerist]
i did cartoon like micky mouse in window glass in frames a/ put colored paper behind it,car windows w/ playboy bunnys, eagles, ivy, roses, ect.mirror look nice w/flowers a/birds ,deers,ect.. i get patt. from book a/ blow them up,if u like it print it [when etching u don't have color a/ u lose a lot so the patterns have tobe detailed
w/a steady hand little pactice it will turn out nice....GOOD LUCK!!
