Default arbortech minigrinder

To all users of the arbotech minigrinder. If the drive belt breaks it is far cheaper to replace it with an O ring rather than a new belt from arbotech which is about eight times more expensive The diamensions are 53mm dia x 2,5mm wall thickness. The wall thickness is critical as the ring slips if it is thicker.
Good luck Louis

Thank you Louis, I shall remember as you say they are expensive. I must say mine lasted quite a bit ,it all depends on how you put it on, I was told.

Nice to know if we are in a pickle, I am not sure I would want to trust a non-reinforced belt though. Our Arborteck is one of our most often used finishing tool and the time it takes to stop and put a belt in for us is not worth the hassle. How long do your belts/o-rings last? Ours last almost 8 months and is used everyday. I just picked up another two belts because last time one broke we did not have a back up and that was a pickle! Had I of even thought that I might of been able to band aid it till I got a new one ...this info would have sure been handy.

Good thing to know, thanks for the post.

Really good to know I have had mine almost ten years and still havent had to replace the belt yet. I use mine all the time for finishing maybe I had better pick up a couple of those O rings thanks for the tip

Thanks to all who replied to my tip on Arbotech belt replacement. I have been using mine extensively for the past eight monthsas as a professional sculptor. It does however slip if too much pressure is applid to the tool also it minigrinder attachent fit a skill angle grinder perfectly without the need of an adjustment plate.
Louis.
PS The reason I have taken so long to reply is that my laptop became ill and in spite of the doctors working hard it passed away. ( hopefully its cyber soul now rests in cyber space.)
