Resolutions of a sort After spending the day e mailing back and forth with Brian Nish at TreeLineUSA about the PowerCrafter situation, he offered to have me send the hand piece back to him and he would personally take it over to the factory and have it repaired. The man went out of his way to help me. I didn't even buy it from him. He also said the following in one of his E mails "We have heard horror stories about Powercrafter customer service so we deal with the owner of the company and not Jerry " Well, it appears that Brian, still trying to resolve an issue that he should have never been involved in but still trying to fix the problem, forwarded some of my E mails to him to Jerry or someone at PowerCrafter and Jerry got them. I guess Jerry did not like them too much as he just called me at home this evening, 9:30 PM, screaming and shouting and called me a liar and then hung up. The two e mails to him today asking if he had sent my new turbine have gone unaswered however. Kudos to Brain at TreelineUSA for going above and beyond the call of duty. PowerCrafter on the other hand, calling me at home to tell me I am a liar and then hanging up, really shows the kind of company they are, I guess this means I wont be getting my Turbine LOL GT Last edited by GabrielT; 10-18-2007 at 12:04 PM. |

Try the turbine from GRS. They advertise in the Woodcarving Illustrated Magazine.

I'm really taken back that a company would treat a customer in this manner. I would be livid if some one from the company called me at home at 9:30 PM ( outside of normal business hours ) was rude, and then hung up on me. Perhaps we need a " Wall of Shame " for posters to put thier opinions of the companies that they have delt with. It might save the rest of us a lot of grief. KEEP BARKIN |

Save the Wavy Washer Grasp collet with small pliers and pull out Insert new turbine Replace wavey washer Screw cap back on Add three or four drops of oil Turn on compressor and hold fingers over air exhaust at top of tool to force oil into the lower bearing. Done Total time, 5 minutes or less. The tool is a good tool. The company that services it may be fine to deal with if you have the luxury of stopping by in person. Those of us who have to use their "customer service" however, are pretty much sunk. GT |

I own a Tubo Carver, which is like the Powercrafter. Its a tool like any other tool. It has its place. I like to use it when I am working on the details, but the problem is the compressor's noise. I have to figure out how to put the compressor outside my work area.

I have had my power-crafter for a few months now and I couldn't be happier. It works great and my personally feel my work has been getting more compliments. Im not saying im a great carpenter Im young and have only been doing this for about 5 or 6 years so there are tons of guys who know more then ill ever know. But as far as the power-crafter goes ive uses similar products and i just dont feel anything else has the same detail and control that this tool has. I love it. But I have not had the horror stories of dealing with the customer service. The guy i dealt with was very nice and answered all of my questions. Ive anyone hates there's i would be more then happy to Take the burrs off there hands or even the power-crafter its self. Im VERY VERY sorry to hear about all the horror stories about this tool. I guess I lucked out with mine. Good luck with the tool and if you dont get it then i hope you find something that fits your perfectly

I just got a power carver by SCM. It is an aluminum shaft tool like the powercrafter. I love mine too. I heard so much about how low torque they were, I underestimated how well it would works. I enjoy using it so much that I started buiding a power carving workbench tonight.
