I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the 'pocket' knife comparison in the whittling special. I wouldn't mind seeing more of that sort of thing. mikeg |

Thanks Mike, Those are the types of articles I really like. I know there are many ways to do articles like that, so do you have any I should move to the top of the list? Bob |

I'll have to think about that. Seems to me that somebody did one recently on gloves which was good. mikeg |

I did that one too <GRIN>. Before that, it was woodburners, and for our sister mag, Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts, I did scroll saws. A few years ago, I did sharpening systems.

It was that whittling special that i picked up this past summer at a local bookstore, that rekindled my interest in carving (which had been put aside over the past few years due to family and work taking over spare time!) With simpler projects that can be completed in less time, and also taking less room to work on with less mess being made- whittling is something i almost forgot about. I have read it numerous times, and thought it was a great mix of projects. In regards to comparisons, doing something similar on the number of fixed blade knives would be interesting... Or, taking a selection of folder styles like a stockman, whittler, etc and comparing the various blade styles and how usefull they are for various types of cuts. Im new to the magazine, and dont know what has been published already.. AJC
