i would bet that a large number of carvers are cariacture carvers-- so the magaizines lean in that direction- i have seen several from europe and there wa snt a cariacture carving in them-- i like to do realistic horses-- but i havent seen one article on them-- and dont expect to. i happy taking lessons from a good instructor. yeah it costs a bit-- but what are u doing this for anyway-- im doing it basically for myself--so i spend my money as i fit. that isnt meant to judge someone else--only my take on things-- important that you keep carving and for yourself, improving, what ever that means to you. i know a guy who carves nothing but owls-- all sizes-- that would be boring to me-- but he loves it. go figure.
