Shannon I think the starter santa is a great project for the beginners and think it should be continued in future issues. That darn fox is even harder for me I am still waiting for the braille issue. But I do think the how to segments are a strong part of the issue all the projects are great I have several orders already. Thanks for all your hard work.
Ron

Sharron,

I'm really absorbed into Mark Gargac's Article on the old world santa ornament, at the moment

trying to do the project and learning a heck of a lot about chisel profile and the different use's .

haven't had time even to look for the fox. im riveted to this article and against the ropes at step 6 and 7 trying hard not to let it beat me while learning a different approach to carving faces...
its not the article, i cant find anything missing its just me and learning new concepts in the use of chisel usage.. plus age plus retention... and distractions.

great tutorial Mark...
thanks for putting it in this issue Sharron

Shannon,
I think you and your staff did a great job with this issue of WCI. when reading the articles , it's Like you know almost everybody in the articles (Bart Wilson,Bob Duncan,Mark Gargac, can't leave out Ron Davidson,) people we converse with all the time.on the Message Board. And I think it was cleaver of you to put the FOX on the edge of the page this month..... who would have thunk of that? lol...... The two articles that I enjoyed the most were ...."PURSUING A PASSION"....AND..FIRST CUTS. a very inspirational article of Ron... and in the other You can see the progresssion of the great carvers of today , some of their first and then their recent carvings.
you have something for almost everybody ..beginner to advanced carver. and what you don't have this issue.......we can hardly wait for next issue......is it ready yet....is it ready yet. .lol Because I found the Fox you wont hear me Whining or wimpering this month. lol.... thank you for all of your hard work and great articles....l
Jim

The fox can be anywhere in the issue - advertisements, photos, text, patterns - anywhere. We haven't done the cover yet - but that doesn't exclude it! He is usually about 1/2" long. Nobody in the office found this one yet - but he's in there - and he's not printed with any magic ink!

Shannon,
Thanks for the info, I've never heard the guidlines and always wondered. I guess since you don't use "magic ink" I'll keep looking for the elusive fox.
I think your magazine content is just fine and always look forward to my next copy long before you print it. I'm one of those that would enjoy a monthly issue but well understand your reasons for not going there, at least for now.

Finally got it!!!!!! I haven't started looking for the fox yet, but the whole issue looks great. There are quite a few Santas I want to tackle. Keep up the great work.

Well, with all the hints, I finally found him. Thanks for those.

I have never seen him before and like others here I really believed in this special ink that only appeared once the next issue came out and it was circled to show where this ink would magically appear.
