Hey there, I too prefered the wolf and feel that it may drive better sales but I wish it showed more of the carving aspect. As far as being a subscriber, I'm not. I religiously purchase every issue and have ordered every back issue you have available. But, after I buy the new issue I put off subscribing. Then I wonder if I do subscribe whether or not I'll get the issue I already have. So I wait thinking I'll subscribe closer to the issue date, and before I know it, here comes the next issue so I run out and buy it... As far as covers I liked 1. 12, 29 and 30. I was thinking that if you wanted to get more people interested in carving perhaps some articles like "why anyone can carve", "what tools do you really need" (show some nice projects done with minimal tools). "Cheap tools that actually work" etc. Thanks for all you do, Dan |

paul-- you should know that when you are from penn. all those places west of the mississippi are the same-- arizona-- arkansas-- they dont know the difference back east-- i heard that back east even had a different time ---- but im real glad janet is in arkansas-- or id never get to take a class with her. i was surprised how rough the boston mountains are, the first time i went to fayetteville-- i have lots of experience in the ozarks east of springfield-- and they are flat comparitively

My bad! Sorry Chuck and Paul. I always get those two abbreviations mixed up! I'll have a correction in the upcoming issue, but until then, I submit myself to the message board stocks! Bob |

That's Ok Bob, it's just that we are right proud of Janet and want credit for her. But, if'n you can't be from the hills....then the desert is next best. Although I got to admit a preference for the Land of Enchantment over the Grand Canyon State. Sorry Hi Ho!

Now that I've gotten my copy of the new issue I have to agree with Paul in that the whirligig does appeal to attracting new carvers since they can see it as something they could probably do. Every issue contains articles for all skill levels so everyone can have a reason to be happy. I must also say that now that I've seen the real hard copy of the magazine cover, instead of those little puny online pictures that Bob posted, I can honestly say that seeing is believing and the real cover does look great! Much better than I would have expected.

I have read all of the new issue, and although some articles I could identify with, more than others, it's another great issue. The whirly gig article will interest many folks, from the new beginner to the more experienced. It's just a matter of time until some one submits a photo of a whirly gig with the figure more fully carved in the round. There's something for all levels of carvers, in that article. Tom H |

I prefer the wolf. It is much more in tune with woodcarving than the other cover.
