I think most folks promote their blog and/or website via their signature line (which is fine and acceptable).

Gee, I had assumed that we were all friends here. Frankly, it's starting to get a little confusing with all these options. I visit this site several times a day and just stick with the daily posts. That's enough for me. The ability to post a new Thread or make a Comment is enough for me. About the only other option I use is having to respond to the Pm's I receive occasionally. But even there I just wish they'd just contact me via email as that would make it much easier. I don't need two file cabinets to keep track of my mail anymore than I need another Facebook or Myspace to keep track of my friends.

I guess the idea of an upgrade is a good one for some but I can't see that it's much of an improvement from what we already have.

Hi Lynn, having a bit of trouble following your comment. I agree with what you said about having too many places to look, but not sure how it ties in to the thread. Does it connect to my comments? Or something earlier in the thread? Thanks for the come back - as time allows.

I wasn't addressing my comment to yours but to the overall topic of adding more social networking to this forum. In my opinion it might be a nice and important addition to some but to me not so much.

Hi BobD,
I have a couple of questions about the "Social Groups" To start a new group there is a box to select 'catagory' or 'uncatagorized' however, there doesn't appear to be any options for the 'catagory'. Would you explain this to me please?
Also there is another box for selecting 'Type of Group' ~ public, moderated or invite only. Does the 'public' allow non-member visitors access to the group or just forum members?
What does 'moderated' mean? Are the groups moderated by our forum moderators?
Sorry for all the questions...it doesn't seem to take much to befuddle me at times. lol

Hi Leslie,
All of the groups are uncatagorized at this point...we haven't set up any categories yet.

Public groups are open to all members of the board, moderated means that people can apply, but the creator of the group has to approve their membership. Moderation is done by the group creator. Invite only means the group creator must invite you to become a member of the group.
