Default What tool, under $10, can't you live without

We're doing some market research, and looking for the "essential" carving items. Any thoughts???

I'd have to say my "Whittlin' Jack" bench knife. I've had 4, still have three....loaned one out and it never came back. I think I paid 8 bucks apeice for them, but it's been a few years. I think they are still under $10.

My Warner utility knife--like the Stanley No. 199 but cheaper, lighter, and more comfortable. Too expensive? Okay--a utility knife blade epoxied into a piece of cherry from one of the trees in my yard.

Jillsy took my first thought, how about a carving glove? Mine was something like $7.95.
