Shannon,

I haven't gotten through the whole maga zine thoroughly, but I'll be working on it over the weekend. Just a few comments...

So far, I like the new issue and its format. I enjoyed reading Chris Pye's article, and look forward to his series.

The printing is much easier to read.

I notice that the titles for certain sections were not that obvious--I think one was the one where the staff did the Jenga block carvings. It seemed to me the sections weren't really divided. I don't have the magazine in front of me, but as I leafed through the magazine, I thought the titles should be more obvious--different color, or bolder font, maybe. I'll cover this more next time.

Overall excellent job. I don't mean to be critical, but I want to be helpful so the magazine is better for everyone.

BTW--the hole punchings were a nice touch when I took the magazine out of the wrapping--sort of like getting a wood carving and having wood chips fall out of the box as you take the carving out! LOL

I love it! Every article was my favourite!

Wait a minute, I don't even have it yet. Oh well, when I do get it, I'm sure the above comments will stand.

Got mine yesterday. Leafed through it kinda quickly.

Looks great and my favorite article so far was Frankenstein, but I'm a huge Halloween freak.

I did like the little blurb about the group project from this here board. I thought it was kewl how you put everyone's screen name in too.

Now back to the stinkin' fox hunt.

I just got back from business all week on the left coast and issue #36 was waiting for me. Leafed quickly through it for a few minutes and saw lots of stuff I'm going to have to spend some time with. I was especially impressed with the Jenga Block carvings by the WCI staff!

I got my issue Wednesday night and it's already wrinkled. My dial up service is so slow tonight that I'm reading it while I wait for the next page to come up on the old computer.

I liked the Jenga blocks, group project, Lora's cute little mouse; Loved the brown pelican and would have like to see a couple of step-by-step pages on it. Frank was cool and I'm waiting for that talented Vicki Bishop to be admitted to CCA. Also enjoy the judges critique--lots of good hints there. Love the Hillman's article and all the birds, including Nancy's mergansers--especially since I've seen them in person and they are awesome. Jan's quick folk art eye just inside the back cover was a great project--he's a neat guy in person--and so good to find great ways to help carvers of all levels.

I like the larger type--can almost read it without my glasses! Of all the articles, the one that makes me want to pull out a block of wood and knife, it had to be the pelican and the group project.

So, good job WCI. You just keep changing for the better--and there wasn't anything wrong with the old, either.

Waiting......it really builds up the anticipation seeing what everyone else is saying about their new addition. I sure hope mine comes soon! I keep telling myself "all good things come to those who wait!"

g-r-r-r-r-r-r-r..... Donna, I don't have my copy yet and I can't wait to see how it looks !! I am really eager to see the article on Tony Hillman.
Any magazine that come through St. Louis ............ well, I won't get mine for ages. Frequently I do not receive my monthly copy of OnSat (very expensive satellite TV guide) until the 3rd week of the month.

Well, the old postman came ambling through these hills bearing a treasure. Issue #36 now joins the rest of the collection in the carving room and I am looking for #37! Except for that da......uh......rn fox! Still Looking!

Other than that, I enjoyed the new look.
