Susan offered the critique in the last issue, and Lori Corbett offered one for the fall issue, Ash, so that is going to be coming at you every issue from now on!

And I'm working on a article about several carvers overcoming their disability...in all my spare time <grin>

I think you have a well rounded Magazine that caters to all carvers and not just some.
Some great suggestion aired here but are they just individual suggestion catering to thenselves or to make WCI a better carving magazine? I don't know.

I do like that you want to change the format top make it even a greater carving Magazine..
I like the critique articles and one per mag should be sufficient. or maybe a large carving and a small carving.
After all, Do you want nothing but critiques. I like the different Carvers submitting their carvings and having others critique it. We all learn.

All in all, you have agreat carving magazine for all carvers

Just my two Abe Lincolns worth.
Take that and 50 cents and see if that buys you a cup of coffee. Well around here in SEK the 50 cents will.

Kenny ,
I was thinking more of one relief and one in the round per issuse. There are some interesting differences between the two and at 4 issuse put year I would not think 8 carvings per year would be to much to see.

But I would also suggest that perhaps a wider format, that would include everything presently and perhaps a bit more from around the globe. See we now have members from South America to Russia And ever where in between to see the differences in the cultural carvings would be a benefit to all of us as carvers.

Or here ya go Bob , send you on an article called carvings from around the world.. London, Paris, Rome , St Petersburg , Germany, ect ect .. I mean I doubt I will ever have the chance to see many of the worlds greatest carvings , but close up pictures , showing the real detail and the work would be a great resource.

Ash

I think a magazine has to lean to the majority of the carvers.....and most I think carve in the round....just my opinion.

sorry if my post came accorss that I was singleing you out Ash, I wasn't. If you reread my post, I too like the critique articles and said one a magazine would be enough, In my opinion. Not that I did not want them in there.
I still believe WCI is a well rounded Carving Magazine and I think it is the best. It beats the others hands down. The English Carving Magazine leaves a lot to desire and does not give the normal carver much information.

I do not consider myself a good carver and I like articles that may help myself and others like me.
Lately, I haven't done enough carving to say I am a carver.

In any thing we do, there is room for improvement. That includes my carving skills. or lack of. WCI could be improved but a Fine rag it is the way it is.

Enough said, I will get off here!
