Smile Holiday Issue Page 10

There is a story on page 10 of the recent Holiday Issue about Chipping Away in Kitchener Ont. having a Christmas tree ornament donation for a local charity. Last night I was able to stop by the mall where the tree is on display and see it in person. The only way I can think of describing it is "WOW" what a fantastic tree. There is such a wide variety of ornaments carved by so many different carvers. It's a woodcarvers Christmas delight. Roger Strautman's chip carved star tree topper from page 37 looks even more amazing in person. Needless to say I had to buy tickets for a chance of winning this fantastic tree. They're only $2 each, 3/$5 or 8/$10. I envy the person who wins it.

P.S. I also donated ornaments for the tree as well.

Shawn

WOW
Thank Yo Shawn! I had been reading that with leftovers this morning! Thank you for sharing the expirience! i wish there was a place to buy tickets online...that would be so cool, but then I guess they dont want to have to ship it,eh? Very glad you got to see it-I am so glad you posted! Very cool that you donated as well, what did you carve?

JesterOur small carving group here in Aurora carved several ornaments and delivered them to Chipping Away.
Some of us went up to see the tree and it is awsome I will try to obtain some pics for posting.

Keoma, I donated a Santa similar to ones I have posted on this site earlier. Chipping Away now has pics of the tree on their web-site under Newsletter.

That's the Chip Carved Cross that Roger carved as an article in the magazine as well that Dennis is putting on the top of the tree.
