As far as skill level you could be a beginner or professional I think there is enough information for everyone. I have to admit I buy books hoping to get at least 1 helpful technique. This 1 is filled with different techniques

I have had the pleasure to meet Harold Enlow and also have his book. He is a very talented person. I have met a lot of carvers when the Carvers museum in Colorado was going strong. I sure miss those days!

I agree...it's a great book for all levels of carving skill. Harold comes to our club for an all-day-Saturday carving session every September and he and Elaine brought the face book this time. It's well done with lots of different expressions and "looks". Since I mostly carve animals and birds, when I do carve a human (santa), I sometimes need to be reminded of how to get a certain look.

I'd recommend the book (or any of Harold's new books) to anyone who wants to improve their carving skills and techniques.

I have many books on carving faces, and Harold Enlow is one of my favorite ones.

What you can expect from his books is how to carve faces in a more general or universal way than with Pete Leclair technique for exemple (which I love too) which will make your faces look like a Pete Leclair face.

So Enlow's books are a must have, no matter what style you have.
