Default Begging for a new pattern book

Where does a person beg for a new pattern book? I would love to see a book on Lora Irish's walking stick toppers. I keep hauling out the fall issue and squinting to see the ones she has on the shelf behind her in that picture. And the two on the next page. I've been all over the net looking to see if she has them posted somewhere and cannot find very much information on them.

I love her style of carving and would love to purchase a book with her instructions and patterns on her cane/stick toppers that are pictured in the magazine.

I know she loves chocolate...... shall I start saving up? *grin*

Hi Marci

I think a bar of good chocolate for a nice clear photograph of those toppers would be a good swap.Smile

Oh ... Jeez-zoo-flip, Marci! I would never bribe or blackmail anyone for chocolate just to get a few patterns. I'll search through my archives of images and see if I have any of these already sketched out for you!

In the mean time I know that there should be about 6 or 8 cane topper patterns already posted to the message board. You might want to enlist BobD's help in doing a search. I tried this morning and was getting nowhere ... but I know that I have quite a few cane freebies here.

Fox has been after me for a while about cane patterns ... maybe that is what I will tackle after the New Years.

Hi Lora! Oh I hope you will consider doing a book on them! I'll be the first in line for sure!

I was looking in here for the fella you made into a windchime and couldnt find him back. I'll try a search on cane topper and see what else I can find.

I do own your CD and have tried a few of your wrappers for some of the canes I"ve worked on. Its the faces with long braided beards and the Viking that really have my interest.. They are just so adorable.

I'm a chocoholic and have a bowl of it , be it either Hersheys, or M & Ms, or a mix of candy bars near my carving station also. And I'm always willing to share.. *grin*

Thank you and I hope a book will come about.

Here's the wind spirit (windchime)--I think this is what you're looking for:

Wind Spirit

I'll work on finding the toppers since I'm doing "twist" sticks now and could use some ideas--but right now I gotta go to the bathroom!!!

(And paint!!).

Thanks Bob!

Here's a listing of the threads that I can find that have freebie patterns or detailed drawings attached. I did find about four other cane toppers that I have enough scans of to make patterns for you ... but it will take a few days. In the mean time maybe there is something here to keep you busy.

The Little Green George is a pattern from the Woodspirits and Greenmen book that I thought I would share.

The last link is to a cute little online movie that I thought everyone might enjoy ... Happy Holidays.

Hi Susan its not a bribe, she's trying to get you addicted to them, that way you can post more cane topper patterns.

I better send a ton or so your way also, for all the help you've given me.
Mel

Thank you , thank you! I have a father in law that has been having problems stumbling and I'd like to make him a walking stick with one of these toppers on it. He's Norwegian, so I'm going to see if I can get a Viking helmet on him like the one you have in the magazine. If thats ok with you.

LOL Mel... I agree.. I'll send her chocolate if she keeps on posting.. It gets pretty quiet in here when she's not working on a project in here.
