I like the holes and keep back issues in binders, however, I understand cost savings and it wouldn't be a deal breaker if you decided to discontinue drilling them. I keep other un-drilled periodicals in binders with plastic binder holes that go in between the center pages of the magazine.

It doesn't matter to me but my friend Ray just loves them. If you leave teh format with enough space so that we can use a 3 hole punch to make owr own holes perhaps everyone will be happy. By the way, the binder would be pretty cool... Dan |

You can use the little stand up boxes shaped like fat books that can hold a year's worth and be labeled accordingly. I'm a bugler with Bugles Across America, and all my reference papers such as odd work out excersizes and some favorite sheet music for practice get hole punched and kept in a binder. My self punched holes line up pretty good. Bob

I think the holes are a waist of time and money. I keep my issues on a shelf where I can readly see the issue number, I often refrence a particular issue using your index on this web site and find it expedient to just look for that number rather than to unsnap several binders to look for the issue number and the put them back in order. I can readly see if any are missing from the colection.

I have been a subscriber since issue #1 and have them on a shelf in order. Cost,$0. Seems to be working just fine for me.

Shannon and Bob, I, too, have subscribed since issue #1. I have a bookcase where I store all my carving materials--two shelves for books, one for catalogues and supplier info, one for reference publications, and one for WCI. I keep publications in plastic magazine holders where I can get a couple of years' in each holder. I label them by year(s) so I know where to go when looking for past articles. If omitting the holes allows you to hold the subscription price for another year, then quit doing it. I'm more interested in the content and high quality of the magazine than I am the storage issue. That's a personal preference. But, thanks for asking our opinion. It means a lot to know our opinion matters. It's great that you can use this forum for instant feedback. Donna T

Hard to read the spine to find which issue you are looking for when they are in a binder.

from the voting results 31.3% say that the holes are important-- i wonder what the response would be if the cost of the subscription was going to go up $1 per yr or more-- thats a cost of .25 per issue-- which seems to me kinda high. 69% of us dont care one way or the other -- but id rather see the price stay down and the quailty stay high. if the publisher quits punching the holes-- im sure that there will be some who will get upset and not renew their subscriptions. thats unfortunate and i sure dont know how to pacify those people-- im just glad that i dont have to make the decsion. to bob or shannon- how much would it reduce the cost to not punch holes? |

I keep mine in binders because they have holes. I acquire the binders at garage/yard sales for next to nothing. They work for me. If no holes would have to use magazine holders in binders or magazine boxes, both of which would have to be ourchased at full cost. Bill |

Lose the holes, i get the stand up magazine holders at my cost and choice. And really the questions of Not important and doesn't matter are really the same. |
