Hello ALL, I feel like I've been away forever. Hope all is well with everyone. I made a video on how to Design, RoughOut and Hand Carve a Celtic Themed Toy Chest and put it on YouTube. It takes about ten minutes to watch and I put some pics of woodcarvings in it also. I hope you find it useful, maybe you can get some useful tips from it. I made it mostly myself but my son Declan helped with a few of the close ups. Click Here and it will take you to it. If you like it please leave some feedback. Thanks, Bern Last edited by Carving_Celtic; 02-28-2007 at 12:52 AM. |

Some nice work there Bern. You seem very comfortable in front of the camera...not an easy task. I think you've raised the bar for what our tutorials may look like in the future. Your carvings inlayed into the furniture are very impressive. The little rotary tool works pretty slick - another need-to-have tool to add to my list. Patrick |

Bernie, Your Video was awesome buddy. I hope that you continue to make more. You made it seem more doable than ever to the average schmo like me. Helps bring up the belief level for guys like me which in turn leads to more successful carvings/carvers. Thanks for taking the time Jim |

Nice job on the box! What are the most common woods used for Irish carving. English Oak? Lime?

Thanks Bern, The Rotary Tool seems to have a lot of different uses. I have used the Dremel Tool, but the one you have seems more stable. It's on my list. That is the first U TUBE I have seen. You did an outstanding job. It must have felt strange to run the camera and narrate while performing the work.Very well done and looking for your next project. Thanks Merle |
