Since Dave and the Yorkarver's are AWOL, I posted this tutorial on a website. May not be best quality, but it is all I have. http://www.geocities.com/kcwaterguy@sbcglobal.net Sean |

Hehehe, I had 'em down to 5 minutes, but they are now 5 minute toads! 10 minutes, and they are owls....I've been giving them away to little kids at our carving shows. Al |

Thomas, I'm afraid I owe you an apology. I was joking.....meant that if I tried to do an owl in five minutes, it looked kinda like a toad. I had to slow down to get it to look like an owl. Here's a link to one of Susan's free patterns that is a good "porch whittler"! I used this for a beginner woodcarving merit badge project. It can be done rather crude or really made to be quite cute. The kids love it. http://www.carvingpatterns.com/fishdecoy.htm Al Last edited by AlArchie; 07-16-2006 at 01:19 PM. |

oh no problem alarchey, i got a few neiborhood youngans, cuzzans and nephews that like my carvings and want me to teach them, how, i was thinking these easy projects would be the right stuff to keep them intrested... kids dont keep intersted in nothing anymore that takesw longer than a reset of the game boy...... no problem....... if i carves one of them in 5 minuets i bet i would be returning from the emergency room or the old sali maler to get my parts sewn back on.......
