10 minutes, and they are owls....I've been giving them away to little kids at our carving shows.

| | Re: Yorkarver's 5 minute owl tutorial Thomas, I'm afraid I owe you an apology. I was joking.....meant that if I tried to do an owl in five minutes, it looked kinda like a toad. I had to slow down to get it to look like an owl.
Here's a link to one of Susan's free patterns that is a good "porch whittler"! I used this for a beginner woodcarving merit badge project. It can be done rather crude or really made to be quite cute. The kids love it. http://www.carvingpatterns.com/fishdecoy.htm

| | Re: Yorkarver's 5 minute owl tutorial oh no problem alarchey,
i got a few neiborhood youngans, cuzzans and nephews that like my carvings and want me to teach them, how, i was thinking these easy projects would be the right stuff to keep them intrested... kids dont keep intersted in nothing anymore that takesw longer than a reset of the game boy......
no problem.......
if i carves one of them in 5 minuets i bet i would be returning from the emergency room or the old sali maler to get my parts sewn back on....... |
