Hi All, I posted a two part tutorial on How to wood carve a ball in a box (or cage). Its on www.youtube.com and its under MISTERSPLINTERS. After you watch it I would recommend viewing the bloopers from the video that I also uploaded. Thanks and keep carving! Below is my direct channel link (Thanks jmischel) : http://www.youtube.com/user/MisterSp.../2/5R-_YaBZMZI Joseph Savarese Last edited by splinters85; 08-25-2011 at 11:01 AM. Reason: updated link |

Nice tutorial. You explained each step and what you were doing. Your demonstration of a sharp versus dull knife was helpful. I think I will try the ball in a cage to get back to being friends with my knives. Thank you for making the videos.

Thanks for the video, Joseph. I'll definitely have to look at that one, as I have a ball in cage cutout that I really want to do. Direct link to your page is MisterSplinters's Channel - YouTube

I've made a few of these, yet I learned several tips from your video. Thanks. The radius template idea is particularly good.

Joseph, Thanks for the "toot". The ball in a cage was the second project I attempted when I first got started seriously carving. It was a disaster!!!. I hid it so well I can't remember where it is now. LOL. Anyways here it is three years later and you've gotten me ready to try it again. I have three new grandsons to gift them to for christmas this year, so I'd best get started soon eh? I appreciate your efforts. L.P.

Joseph, Just got back from watching the videos. Very well done. I watched your first tutorial on the owl a while back, and liked it as well. Keep em coming. Great work. |
