Thank you, Terry. I was worried about some of those pictures. For the ones that showed me carving, I put the camera on a tripod and used the self-timer. Took a few tries, but I finally figured it out. Ron: Thanks for the nice comments. I really enjoy whittling these little things. Bob K: Thank you. I'm surprised you're having trouble with the PDF. I think what might be happening is that your browser is opening the PDF. In Internet Explorer, right-click on the link and select "Save Target As..." If you're using Google Chrome, right-click and select "Save link as". That will let you save the PDF as a separate file, rather than opening it in the browser.

Thanks Jim! I've got it saved and will share it with th club. I know all the hard work that went in to it. Like Ron I'm also looking forward to the Whittle Cat tutorial. In fact this morning as I was sitting in the reception area of our local medical center whittling on one of Gene's bears waiting on my wife I had a woman come up to me and ask if I'd make her a cat. I'm told her that I do dogs and bears but no cats!

Thanks, Eddy. It was fun. The cat's going to be sitting. Again, it's carved from a 1" diameter piece of wood, so there are some design challenges. But I guess you can upsize it if you want. I carved a cat as my first real project. I'd done some simple ornaments prior to that. I thought it turned out well. I used Ol' Don's cat pattern, cut out with a coping saw and carved with a Stanley No. 199 utility knife. I named it Pounce. When I finished that carving, I decided I might enjoy this hobby and celebrated by buying a real carving knife. I suspect you could make some neat mods to that cat pattern.
