Default Whistle

I have been trying lately to carve a wooden whistle from a tree branch with no success. Does anyone have plans on how to make one?

You have to use a Willow branch if thats the type you're talking about. Here's a link to show you how to do it.

Red maple twigs are my favorite for making slip bark whistles but I must wait until the sap is flowing in early spring or I just can't get the bark to slip. Inbetween then I just have to make them in the woodshop using the drill press and dowel rod plugs.
