I have started a new tutorial on my blog entitled "The Study Stick". It will take you through the process of carving a caricature face in a step-by-step manner. Part one, that is now available, walks you through the steps of carving a nose. The tutorial is intended mainly for beginning carvers, but vetran carvers may benefit from a new angle on things as well. I also keep the tools simple, using only a knife and one small gouge. I hope you will stop by The Old Stump Blog and check it out. Let me know if you have any questions along the way. I'm here to help. The Old Stump

Thanks guys. I hope someone will benefit from this tutorial. It was a lot of work to put it together, but if someone is able to build some confidence and improve their carving skills, it will have all been worth while.
