Are the segments on a file sharing service??? (you-tube/yahoo...etc???) If they are?? 1) copyright kicks in pretty quick (that's my psa)
2) they don't want you ripping their video (they are liable for owners copyright also...my psa for them) , so they make it a little tough
3) there are software programs that will rip the video for you, my experience has been....repro quality is lacking

4) I tend to lean towards the video camera....video the computer screen. Yes, it is a little Flintstone, it works. When you have the digital, scab it together however you want

Check out the thread "Downloading from YouTube" , info there will provide you with software to burn DVD's to run on a DVD player. You might have to run each video as a chapter , which in my mind is a better way to go than trying to splice 1/2 dozen downloaded videos from YouTube.
Why do I suggest that, well if you want to refresh your mind about a particular segment it's much easier to find the particular segment rather than fast forwarding and searching through a single file on a DVD.
Just my take.
If you have a DVD player that will play AVI files , there is no need to convert to DVD format.
Yes you can find software "free" and "$" to join downloaded YouTube videos, but I haven't had much luck with the type of stuff (Woodcarving) I have downloaded from YouTube. Burning it in chapter format has been no problem.
Just my two cents.

I use the Ask.com toolbar for downloading, Easy Video Joiner V5.21 for joining, FAVC for converting, and my laptop's pre loaded burner program for burning to DVD.

Even though I have the files saved on my computer it is nice to know that if I lose internet or my HD takes a dump I have DVD copies of all of the tutorials I want to try.

Most tutorials posted online would likely fall under the "Fair Use" exemption to the U.S. Copyright laws.

If you are using Windows XP or Vista (not sure about the others), they include a program called Windows Movie Maker, which will enable you to splice the segments together.
