Default Santa Ornament (carving eyes)

6 of 7, Pix.#1) Continuing on from the last step, sometime it's easier to flip the carving upside down to carve, here I am stop cutting to meet the stop cut at the center from the last step. Pix#2) cutting down from the upper lid to remove a small wedge of wood from the inside corner. Pix#3) Same cut with the detail knife at the outside corner of the eye. Pix.#4) Taking a #7/6mm gouge I am stop cutting to create more shape to the out side corner of the mound. Pix.#5) With the same tool, make the removal cut.

Mark,
As usual excellent work and a very nice little tutorial. Really appreciate it!
One question though. What did you do to your thumb? Mallet carving or installing a furnace?

First thing I noticed too Don (the thumb).

Mark, it would help if you numbered the steps - you may be planning on doing that when you add the captions.

Great work.
