Default question for gene messer

I have just started carving. i use a pocket knife at this time my question is where are your patterns that you cut out on the bandsaw. i keep forgetting the steps on the bear that you cut out of a block of wood and you stated that you usually bandsaw it some before you start to carve. It would be helpfull to get some patterns to practice on. Where i am at when i can carve i do not have access to a computer to help me remember where to start . I cut out a few axes out of cedar, walnut and cherry and one boot out of aspen. Never again with aspen it sneaks up on you and bites you.the toe brokeoff and i got cut real bad. Got to watch that grain all the time. any way a few patterns for beginners would be very helpful.
