Default Olde World Santa revisit

Here's a look at my take on the Olde World Santa in WCI #41 back in 2007.

Hello Don,
I live out in the boonies and have dial up internet service. It takes forever to open a blog with photos (it's been 9 minutes waiting so far and it's still not open), so would you consider just posting the photo here? It only takes about a minute for my old computer to open a photo that's posted directly to this forum. Don't know if other folks have this problem.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm like you Donna, I hate it when I have to go searching at another website for something. I thought that was what this site was for, showing your work. Not just an advertizment place for peoples blogs.

Bob

Here's the 2nd Part of the Olde World Santa video.

Donna, I will try to put up some pictures. I'll wait til I have painted pictures too.

Bob, sorry you feel that way. I don't really gain anything by linking to my blog. Nothing for sale there. I'm trying to make a contribution to a great community. This site reaches a lot of carvers and my feeling is if I do the work to make videos about carving, and many seem to like them, I want to direct carvers to those efforts. A blog is just a real convenient way to put writing, picture and videos in one place. I put finished photos up here too when I have some to show.

Hey Don:
Thanks for posting. I love watching carving videos, I find a lot of great tips that way...it's the next best thing to being there!

that great but I wish you would have spent some time explaining how deep to cut the nose etc. but I like the work on the eyes a lot.

Maybe I'll do some more with greater detail. I'm just learning this one. Working on a third one and already getting a lot easier. I'll do more videos on this, but i have to able to give something more than the article already shows.

I wish I could say I have that down to a limited number of perfectly placed cuts. I just carve away until it looks like a face I like. What my videos are about is inviting you to look over my shoulder a bit and follow along my journey. But I am still very much muddling my way through most things carving.
