Default Mtn. Man Mask (Thread #10 eyes)

Pic #1) Using the 3mm micro gouge cut to the outside of the vertical line penciled in on the horizonal line. Stay to the outside when you cut this one in , you want to leave a good piece of wood to work with.

Pic #2) In this picture I am using a 4mm micro gouge and carving across right under the center line and meeting the previous cut for the clean-up cut.

Pic #3) The results of these cuts from the previous steps.

Pic #4) Taking a 5mm micro gouge start this next cut just slightly off the center line . Round the corners off into the cavities you created with the 3mm micro gouge in the preliminary steps. Work just off the center, you dont want to flatten this area out, and as you near the cavities carve in deeper.

Pic #5) With a #7/13mm palm gouge flipped upside down round into the bridge of the nose starting in the center of the brow.

Mark:
Great job on the tutorial,I can see one thing on the eyes I have been doing wrong and can't wait to try your style.Even when doing caricatures I still like to keep some form of realism in the face.

Great job Mark. I've been following right along and look forward to the "rest of the story"! Great tutorial, and thank you.
