I thought I would help out these great carvers and promote their incredible upcoming event...

RENEGADE WOODCARVERS ROUNDUP
A CARICATURE CARVING EXPERIENCE
March 21 - 25, 2011
James E. Ward Ag Center in Lebanon, Tennessee.

The Renegade Roundup brings together these 5 nationally known caricature carving instructors:

Steve Brown
Tom Wolfe
Mark Akers
Gary Falin
Wayne Shinlever

Students will carve with a new instructor each of the 5 days.

Wish you guys did something like that a bit farther north. This Yankee is has a hard time going much below the Iowa border.

Seems like they are running a few contests at the Round up, one involves carving a ball...

"adding a new contest this March, carve a sphere, then roll it for distance"

Can anyone elaborate on what the rules would be for this event - I assume no sandpaper?

There will be T-Shirts available but not a Renegade shirt. No sandpaper allowed in the sphere contest and you only have 15 minutes to carve. It is a lot of fun and you will not belief some of the distances that some of spheres (balls) go. The Renegade is full but will be taking a few for the waiting list.
