| | Gnome home tutorial Hi all,
I just thought I would post a link to a tutorial I have been working on for carving a Gnome home. I noticed on the carvings that I have posted there have been quite a few views of the unfinished carving so I am assuming that some of you folks are interested in how to start a gnome home. It is not complete yet but will give anyone who follows it some ideas on how to get one started. I hope it will be helpful and if you have any ideas for improvement please post them. http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...59&uid=3817423 |

| | Re: Gnome home tutorial Reaaly nice tutorial Don!
I do mine a little different like gouging out the back first to within a 1/4 " of the front or sides, then carve out the windows or doors but the pricipial of doing them are the same.
I don't carve one house, but several and the wife, she likes to carve 6 or 7 little houses. Again, same pricipals used.
Have sent a friend who can not seem to get the concept, your link.
Like your tutorial, simple and to the point.
Thanks

| | Re: Gnome home tutorial Thanks Don! Your tutorial was a great suprise when I just got home and checked the board. I've been up getting a load of cherry wood for potential carving. Tomorrow morning I'll dig up a piece of bark and give your tutorial a workout. Thanks again. Tom H |

| | Re: Gnome home tutorial Kenny,
I like to carve several houses together also. It's fun to try to work them into each other. I do find it's simpler for classes to do a single and teach the principles first. I have also found the singles sell well and they take less time to do. I just added 3 more photos for anyone that is interested. More to follow when I get time. Back to work tomorrow, darn it.
I just thought of something else. Is the music that plays along with the tutorial distracting. Let me know. Thanks!
