Great tut, I started one while on the phone with tech support at work. When I came across the post I new I had a golf ball somewhere on my desk. Found it and pulled put a box cutter and started working my way around the ball. After about 15-20 minutes I had the cover off and started carving. I got as far as the nose before quitting time. This is my third attempt at carving and this one is different but fun because I have plenty of golf balls to practice on. Thanks for taking the time to post pictures. |

Thank you for the information how to carve a golf ball. i have tried it,and the way i hold the golf ball is with a suction cup you can get in any golf store, that i use to get the ball out of the putting hole.

If you do not own a dremel you could use a hack saw and put the golfball in a vise a use the saw to cut around the ball

Thanks so much for another great tutorial. I really like the golf balls, but I have a hard enough time just carving a good piece of wood. I might try it, and let you know how it went. fred k

I've used an old golf ball for a file handle but never thought of carving a face on one. Looks like I too shall need to take a visit to the local golf course too. Of the projects I've started and screwed up beyond repair, a face seems to give me more troubles by far. Lots of things to get right. I'd never thought of using a golf ball for practice! Thanks for the tute! |
