Default Carving Cowboy Boots...The Complete Guide!

Two new posts are up today with tons of photos showing just about every cut necessary to carve a cowboy boot. Just go to:

www.outwestwoodcarving.blogspot.com

Only the base remains but it will have to wait a bit as I'm going to OKC to see the Prix de West show at the Cowboy Hall of Fame!! Need a recharge and a visit to that place always does it!!

Hi, Lynn!
Photo questions for you. How much light do you have pointing at the carving when you photograph it in your hands (watts, colors, tungsten or fluorescent)? How do you take the photos with both of your hands in the scene? I assume you have a tripod for your camera, so maybe you use a timer delay so you can click the shutter and then get both hands back into the scene?

I use a digital camera, Nikon D70 with no flash. Just an overhead shop lite with light from the window. My wife takes the photo and I crop them.

Thanks, Lynn!

Now that Dave has shown us his fancy pattern also, who's going to be the first to use a burner and make the cowboy boots look like 'gator or snakeskin?

Lynn....really impressive site. A wonderful tutorial, thank you for taking the time to create it. I am sure it will help a lot of new carvers along their road to improving their skills. And my compliments to Mrs. Lynn for taking the time with all the photography, a patient and skilled lady!
