That's great. Awesome eyes on that one too. Now how about cheeks. Some of your stuff has loose skin that rolls over, like the guy in your eye tutorial. How do you get down in there and roll it over and then make it smooth?

One of our carvers who actually instructs could probably describe what your interested in much better than I. The folds on some of my carvings do not follow the laws of facial carvings as the skin is too full to give a real look to the saggy aged look. I've been told that it helps to visualize the bone structure underneath and think of carving like your adding the skin and muscles rather than taking away the wood. Take a look at Mark G's work and you'll see what I've been trying to get at with my carvings. Thanks for the complements.

You know I never thought about carving in 66 years till Novemeber last year.
After that I got on to this forum do n't know if my carvings improved that much but my information has certainly increased. Your tutorials - examples are typical of the help I find Patrick. Being new to this hobby/addiction I'm still turning up nuggets. They might be old hat to some but not to this old salt.
