I'll be trying that carving in the near future. I'm impressed how you were able to carve in the character lines in such a small carving. Really appreciate you posting your photos as it gives me great reference ideas for carvings.

Thanks Colin and everyone else for the kind comments on my aspen mtn. man cane. The gentleman that I carved it for in Meadville, PA. seemed very pleased with the pixs. that I emailed him, he's receiving the cane this week.

Mark, I can see anyone not being pleased to be getting that cane, it is a great face! I was looking at the sea captian I finished last week and saying to my wife "there is something wrong with the nose" Well now I see how it should look. Thanks for posting this great face. Don
