Paul | I guess I am lucky seeing that we have a carving club locally and all the free material I can get. I just need to find a good teacher now LOL for free |

I can use all the Free Basswood I can get; pre-cut of course.

Paul | Free as in I get most of my wood from a friends land . I get my basswood from a sawmill locally and I tell you it isn't free LOL not by a long shot. Slabs of pine, basswood, cherry, oak and maple and that yes it can be gotten for $25.00 a bundle , but most times that is cut and sold as firewood. Most of the local sawmill no longer sell the slabs with bark or even with it debark. It is usually chipped up and sold to the papermills here in the U.P. |

So let her post it as long as the OWNER of the site already said it is ok. |

| | Re: On-Line Carving Classes Cyndi,
As a member of two carving clubs, I have cut out and distributed approximately 300 of your hearts for the members to carve. (About 40 or so members) It has been really interesting to see what they all do with them, but, just like potato chips, nobody can stop at just one!! (Only, as a scrollsawyer also, I just can't bring myself to hack them out quite as crudely as you showed!!)
There have been pendants and pins, hatpins and hearts on a stick, "Native American" hearts, just plain hearts in many colors, and probably a lot that I haven't seen. From all of us, a big "Thank you" to you for your putting your nifty little project in WCI.

So glad you are enjoying the "hearts" article. I love to present a concept and see how others personalize it and make it their own. And they are like potato chips.......I've carved a millon of them too.
Thanks for sharing. ![004[1]1](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/004[1]1.gif) Carving! |
