| | Photo's State Troopers If anyone has a photo of a state trooper from their state or any other state I would like to have a copy. What I plan on doing is to carve a replica of them like the one I did of the mountie. It might be a funny collection to start. You might also mention anything that I might use to make each one special. If you want just post them here and I will copy them off. Thanks! Ron |

| | Re: Photo's State Troopers Ron, I will see what I can do for you. Hummm 110, in a 40 mile zone should find one.. Wonder if I could get off with a warning if I told him I want a picture for a good cause..... Then again , would probley come closer to a warning in West Virginia by telling him my cousin owns a sheep farm ... Opps said that out loud

| | Re: Photo's State Troopers I'll check around, Ron......somehow I just didn't take many pictures of myself in uniform.....hmmmmm.
Ash, I've been known to round up a few loose cattle and horses, but never showed much interest in sheep!

| | Re: Photo's State Troopers I can give you the link to photos of a neighbor who recently died in the line of duty. I have been trying to work on a relief carving but I simply lack the skills at this time to make a comfortable presentation to the family.

| | Re: Photo's State Troopers Well, I noticed this in my wife's wallet the other day......she says it's of a MUCH younger, less heavy, Trooper with less gray hair and a much smaller nose, than now.
Anyway, we wear the garrison style hats, and this is our "Class A" dress blouse....similar to the Mounty's red blaizer, only dark navy blue with a gray-blue shoulder patch. The Sam Brown belt is worn with the strap over the right shoulder and the (then) six-gun is worn Cross-Draw on the left side in a cavalry style snap holster. (actually they now carry the Sig-Sauer 10mm semi-autos, so I don't know what type holster they wear with the dress uniform. That's a silver key chain from the epaulet to the pocket.
Trousers are that same gray-blue with a dark navy stripe down the outside of each leg.
The Michigan State Police dress blouse has no piping on it, except around the eppaulets, and dark navy metal buttons.
Hope this helps with your collection, Ron!

| | Re: Photo's State Troopers Here's another of the MSP in Class A's. This is from the 75th anniversary book, and I don't know who these particular Troops are. The black hat bands are Troopers, the silver ones are seargents, and the gold bands belong to commissioned officers.
Looking at these pictures I can see that the Sig is carried on the right side of the Sam Brown in a high ride holster with a single thumb release retainer.....must be the same holster we wore on the right side of the duty uniform.......I didn't wear the class A very often and I forgot.
Yikes, I found another one.....this shows both sides and good front views.
