Default Pacific North West Native Indian Art

For those interested, there is a free 32 page PDF file available for downloading showing an overview of Pacific North West Native Indian art at:
http://www.freespiritgallery.ca/nwartebook.htm

There is also another PDF file showing Inuit art as well located elsewhere on the same site.

No connection, no money changed hands, just a public service announcement.

One more for my library of northwest art. Thanks!

******************************

Okay, just downloaded and had a quick look. It is less than comprehensive, focusing mostly on artists of the lower mainland.

Add to your west coast art books the following:

Kwakiutl Art by Audrey Hawthorn

Northwest Coast Indian Art - Learning by doing by Karin Clark/Jim Gilbert

Looking at Indian Art of the Northwest Coast by Hilary Stweart

There are many, many more, but those 3 above will give you a solid grounding in understanding the forms used, and how to use them in your own work.

I think the optimum words as I said were "free" and "overview".
