| We were just out driving around the other day and came acros this old stone barn across the Montreal River, just into Wisconsin. Kinda neat. Feel free to use this pic, it's mine and it's ok to use. Al |

Thank you Al, I downloaded the picture while not completely the same I saw a barn similar to that in a Shaker Village in Hancock Mass. I even toured it and have to say it was a great example of being efficient.Too bad they died out

For whatever reason (that I have forgotten) Wisconsin has quite a few round barns, luckly most are being perserved as historical landmarks, unlike regular barns which are being neglected or stripped for thier lumber.

Al that is a very well preserved old building. To bad we all never saw value in more of the old buildings that will disappear from our lives. Thanks for sharing.

follow this link Round barn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia it talks of efficiency and being progressive (sound familiar) the best explaination i ever heard was that with no flat side-- it was more resistant to wind or thunder storms-- big problem i see-- there is no easy way to expand if you chose later to get larger.
